Andaltec has a huge photometric tunnel where you can analyse the quality of light from headlamps and rearlamps.
This is a night road simulation tunnel with 3 lanes plus hard shoulders to control vehicle lighting systems. Its flooring has been optimised to identify changes in colour and intensity.
In this tunnel, we develop on-road appearance testing within a controlled and repetitive environment. You can check the lighting on several screens set at 10, 25 and 80 metres.
Its dimensions make it one of the largest photometric tunnel in Europe:
- 80m long
- 20m wide
- 4 m high
In addition to the photometric tunnel, Andaltec owns many other devices to control the quality of lighting for headlamps, rearlamps, optics modules and CHMSL:
System for the development and fitting of new optical equipment, one shorter photometric tunnel with a goniophotometer and optic cells at 25, 10 and 3.15 metres, value determination for photometric and luminous intensity, colorimeter at 25 and 3.15 metres, 3-angles retroreflectometer and integrating sphere (1 metre in diameter), used for light source characterisation.

Thanks to these facilities, photometric testing for validation can be fully developed in Andaltec. The tests for validation and production control are been following in accordance with the different official regulations: ECE, SAE, JIS… In this way, standards required for homologation can be checked.
The whole car can be directly set in the photometric tunnel. Moreover, there is space enough to compare different cars at the same time and to analyse the differences between lighting technologies, improvements or products modifications. Headlamps and Rearlamps can be studied in both tunnels, the largest and the shorter.
